JLC Outdoors Inc. wants everyone who visits this website to be able to read it, move around it, and reach us. That includes people who use screen readers, magnifiers, voice control, or only a keyboard.

What Accessibility Standard Does This Website Follow?

We build and test this site against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA. Those are the guidelines most courts and agencies point to, and they are the bar we hold every page to.

We say "work toward" on purpose. A website is never finished, and we would rather tell you that plainly than claim a perfect score.

What Have We Done to Make the Site Accessible?

Every page starts with a "Skip to Main Content" link, so keyboard and screen reader users can jump past the menu. The page content sits inside a labeled main area, and headings follow a logical order from the page title down.

Photos carry descriptive text alternatives. Form fields have labels tied to them, so a screen reader announces "Phone Number" instead of an unnamed box. Links that read "Learn More" or "Read More" also carry a longer hidden name, such as "Learn more about commercial landscaping," so they make sense when pulled out of context.

We checked text and background colors for contrast, and we fixed the pairs that fell short. Buttons and links are sized so they are easy to tap on a phone.

We test pages with the axe accessibility engine against WCAG 2.0, 2.1, and 2.2 rules at both desktop and phone widths, then fix what it finds before a page goes live. A person still has to click through the site, because automated tools catch only part of the problems.

Are There Parts of the Site That Are Not Fully Accessible?

Possibly, yes. Some content comes from other companies, and we do not control how it is built. The embedded Google Map on our contact page and the Google reCAPTCHA check on our forms are the two main examples. We use them because they protect the site and help you find our office, and we will switch tools if a better accessible option appears.

Our older blog posts were written years ago. If one of them is hard to read with your assistive technology, tell us which one and we will fix it or give you the information another way.

How Do I Report an Accessibility Problem?

If something on this site blocks you, call us at (407) 595-5818 or use our contact page. Tell us the page address, what you were trying to do, and the device or assistive technology you use. We read every report.

We aim to reply within two business days. If the fix will take longer, we will say so and offer another way to get what you came for, whether that is a phone call, a written estimate, or a visit to our office at 8130 North Orange Blossom Trail, Suite 200, Orlando, FL 32810.
